After ten years working for various ecological consultancies, multi-disciplinary organisations and ecological charities, Howard incorporated Colmer Ecology in December 2011.
From founding the business at the height of the recession, Colmer Ecology has grown considerably with the practice providing a client focused and pragmatic approach to ecological matters. Despite this growth, the important element of the business remains with the attention to detail, unrivaled customer service with advice offered in an open and coherent manner.
Howard manages the day-to-day operations, but also carries out a large proportion of ecological surveys, mitigation design and liaising with clients and stakeholders. He offers expert advice to clients in an approachable and understanding way and is generally the first point of contact.
He has a passion for restoration ecology, is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (MCIEEM), a Fellow of the Linnean Society of London (FLS) and holds Natural England licences to survey for dormice, great crested newts and barn owls.
In his spare time he can be found wading a river trying to catch trout and grayling or failing miserably to surf.
